The machine behind Dwayne Johnson may be powered by a marquee movie star, but it’s leveraged and diversified by his longtime business partner Garcia. She and Johnson’s production company, Seven Bucks, is only one of several companies in a portfolio housed under the Garcia’s holding group TGC. The pro sports league XFL, luxury lifestyle brand GSTQ, tequila brand Teremana and energy drink Zoa are all in the family. In 2023, TGC’s content division announced a live-action remake of “Moana” at Disney, with Johnson reprising his voice role of the trickster god Maui. As chairwoman of the XFL, and the only woman in the U.S. to carry a majority ownership of a major sports franchise, Garcia also oversaw a merger with the United States Football League, which will commence in a joint inaugural season in March 2024.
