KATHLEEN MATTHEWS is the anchor of ABC 7 News in Washington, D.C. She is an award-winning producer, reporter, and news anchor who has covered news in Washington, D.C. for 25 years. Matthews has been awarded nine local Emmys. Her further credits include the prestigious regional Edward R. Murrow Award, the George Peabody Award, the Scripps-Howard Award, the Associated Press Award, and the Gracie Allen Award from the American Women in Radio and Television. In 2002 she was named a "Washingtonian of the Year" by the Washingtonian Magazine.
