Brian Trelstad is a partner at Bridges Ventures, a leading UK impact investor with $550M in AUM. He is working to raise a $100M growth equity fund in the US to invest in businesses located in or serving underserved communities. Prior to joining Bridges, Brian was the chief investment officer at Acumen Fund, a $100M social venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty. During his tenure at Acumen Fund, he oversaw the expansion of the portfolio and the global team, co-founded the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), and was an architect of the Impact Reporting and Investment Standards (IRIS), an initiative of the Global Impact Investing Network. Prior to Acumen Fund, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Brian has co-founded several early-stage for-profit and non-profit social enterprises, including GetActive and the Center for Environmental Citizenship. He was also the lead environmental staffer for President Clinton's AmeriCorps program in the mid-90s. Brian holds an MBA from Stanford University, an MA in city and regional planning from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BA in social studies from Harvard University. He is a 2010 Henry Crown Fellow of The Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
