Srinija Srinivasan is co-founder of Loove Music, a startup in Brooklyn, NY dedicated to creating and promoting a new model for the production, presentation, and equitable distribution of creative music. In 2010, she stepped down from Yahoo! Inc. as Vice President, Editor in Chief after a 15-year tenure with the company. Since joining Yahoo! as its fifth employee in 1995, Srinija led a range of editorial and policy functions globally, including the organization and evolution of the Yahoo! Directory, network editorial standards, privacy and data use, advertising standards, youth safety, community guidelines, accessibility, and corporate responsibility. Prior to Yahoo!, Srinija was involved with the Cyc Project, a ten-year artificial intelligence effort to build an immense database of human commonsense knowledge. She serves on the Commission on Presidential Scholars, to which President Obama appointed her in 2010, and she previously chaired the board of SFJAZZ through the planning and campaign for the SFJAZZ Center, which opened in January 2013. She holds a BS with distinction from Stanford University in Symbolic Systems, and lives bicoastally in Palo Alto, CA and Brooklyn, NY. Srinija is a 2000 Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
