Steve Hauber

Steve Hauber is the chief audit officer of Navient. In this position, Steve oversees the internal audit function and is responsible for the examination, evaluation, and independent assessment of the company’s internal control system. Prior to his current role, Steve was senior vice president and chief audit officer for Sallie Mae, directing the internal audit functions of SLM Corp. and Sallie Mae Bank. Steve joined Sallie Mae in 2003 and also played key roles in credit risk management. Steve has also worked for Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young as an audit manager. Steve has a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
