Kim was born, raised and educated in Toronto, Ontario, where she began her career in the investment business. Starting in 1980, she served the majority of her time as an institutional equities trader with First Marathon Securities Ltd, retiring in 1993. Now retired and living in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Sun Valley, Idaho, Kim pursues the outdoor activities she enjoys with her husband. They also travel extensively, and make regular trips to Zambia, where they are part owners of a river safari lodge. Kim’s philanthropic endeavors include chairing the National Winter Sport Development Association, a Canadian organization whose mandate is to support mainly winter grass roots sports programs.
