Eugene Shvidler

Minority partner in Russian oil tycoon Roman Abramovich's Millhouse LLC; firm created 2001 to manage assets owned by Abramovich and his partners. Duo founded oil-trading outfit Runicom early 1990s. Took control of oil firm Sibneft 1995; sold stake to Russian state-owned gas monopoly Gazprom for $13.1 billion a decade later. Agreed to buy 41% of Evraz, Russia's largest steelmaker, in 2006. Took drugmaker Pharmstandard public last May. Other investments: Russian meat processor, Moscow real estate. Abramovich gave Shvidler his yacht 2006; Le Grand Bleu (The Big Blue) came complete with 65-man crew, helicopter, aquarium, speedboat. Boat was originally purchased from Paul Allen. As the best friend of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, Shvidler has made his fortune alongside the richer Russian. His biggest holding: a 3.4% stake in Russia's largest steelmaker, Evraz. He also has investments in gold mining, Moscow real estate and cash from the sale of his Sibneft stake to Gazprom in 2005. His vineyard at his Château Thenac in France produces nine grape varieties; property also has two plum orchards. Has a 370-foot yacht, Le Grand Bleu, which was a gift from Abramovich. Also owns a house in Snowmass, Colorado.
