Melissa Manson is an Associate at Hamilton Place Strategies, where she helps clients accomplish their strategic communications and public policy objectives throughout all three HPS services. She has developed and executed national and regional earned media strategies to raise awareness of key issues for companies and trade associations. She has helped guide companies through crises by developing robust messages and supporting datasets. She has also led on-the-ground teams outside the beltway to impact local issues in the media. Melissa works in a variety fields such as financial services, sustainability, and labor market issues. Internally, Melissa is instrumental to development of HPS data projects and social media properties. Prior to HPS, Melissa worked at the integrated advertising agency, GMMB, where she assisted the firm's political team during the 2012 campaign cycle working on varied aspects of media placement for Obama For America, Democratic Senatorial and Congressional Campaign Committees. Melissa also worked on Capitol Hill in the office of Congressman Andre Carson. While in the Congressman's office, she worked with aides on policy research projects related to his membership on the House Financial Services Committee. Melissa also assisted on constituent outreach efforts that advocated the Congressman’s policy priorities to constituents, local businesses, and community organizations in his district. Originally from Park Ridge, IL, Melissa is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University where she received a B.S. in both Public Policy Analysis and International Business and a minor in Spanish.
