Prior to going full-time into Michigan politics, Schostak served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the family’s real estate company located in Livonia, Michigan. Schostak increased his activity in politics in 2008 due to major concerns on the direction of our state and country, following years of assisting political campaigns for John Engler, Spencer Abraham, Dick DeVos, John McCain, Mitt Romney, numerous State House and State Senate races as well as numerous municipal races. In 2009, he was appointed the Finance Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party where he was responsible for raising $28 million with then Chairman Ron Weiser. This war chest led the way to the largest Republican victories in our state capital in recent history. Resulting in Republicans holding the Governor’s Office, Secretary of State, Attorney General, majority on the State Supreme Court, majority in the State House and a super majority in the State Senate. In 2011, Schostak was elected Party Chairman and led the campaign to keep those majorities including holding the State Supreme Court and State House and defeating the union backed proposals to amend Michigan’s Constitution. Under Schostak’s direction the Michigan Republican Party aggressively worked with local parties to improve communication, build lists, recruit volunteers, and provide training to improve grassroots operations. Since being elected chairman, Bobby Schostak has created a dynamic grassroots organization committed to electing and re-electing Republican leaders across Michigan.
