At 33, the Sykesville, Md., native and Tulane University alumnus had compiled an impressive Hill résumé even before his more than five years with the conference. He started in 2000 in the office of Rep. Wally Herger, R-Calif., before joining the House Rules Committee in 2001. Two years later, he signed on as communications director for Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. In 2007, Loskarn became the communications director for the Senate Republican conference, a job he held until his promotion to his current post in 2009.
Loskarn, a communications expert, is frequently named one of Roll Call's "Fabulous 50" top Hill staffers, and has been lauded his for influence, communications chops and access to key players. In fact, he's made that list every year since he joined the SRC in 2008.
