He started in 2000 in the office of Rep. Wally Herger, R-Calif., before joining the House Rules Committee in 2001. Two years later, he signed on as communications director for Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn. In 2007, Loskarn became the communications director for the Senate Republican conference, a job he held until his promotion to his current post in 2009. Loskarn, a communications expert, is frequently named one of Roll Call's "Fabulous 50" top Hill staffers, and has been lauded his for influence, communications chops and access to key players.
