Gerry Sikorski

A Representative from Minnesota; born in Breckenridge, Wilkin County, Minn., April 26, 1948; graduated from Breckenridge High School, 1966; B.A., University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, 1970; J.D., University of Minnesota Law School, Minneapolis, 1973; admitted to the Minnesota bar, 1973 and commenced practice in Stillwater, 1974; elected, Minnesota senate, 1976-1982; elected as a Democratic to the Ninety-eighth and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1983-January 3, 1993); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress; is a resident of Stillwater, Minn. Gerry Sikorski (D-MN), head of Holland & Knight's Government Section, and Rich Gold, head of the firm's Public Policy and Regulation Practice Group, have been recognized by Washingtonian magazine as two of Washington, D.C.'s top 50 lobbyists. Sikorski, who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983-1993, recently was named by his peers to the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Government Relations Law.
