Mann, 1969-1970; served on the Spartanburg County Council, 1975-1976; South Carolina senate, 1979-1986; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundredth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1987-January 3, 1993); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress; is a resident of Spartanburg, S.C. In addition to her husband Dwight Patterson, she is survived by a daughter, Catherine Gramling; two sons, Pat and Olin; a sister, Sallie Scott; and four grandchildren.
