Christopher J. Galligan was appointed Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) in July 2007. He is responsible for the leadership of all traditional activities related to institutional advancement such as advancement services; alumni affairs; the CCSU Foundation, Inc.; development/fundraising; marketing and communications; and corporate, foundation, and government relations. In addition, he oversees non-traditional institutional advancement activities such as the University’s continuing education function, the Institute of Technology and Business Development (ITBD), and the Institute of Municipal and Regional Policy (IMRP). Prior to accepting the position of Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Dr. Galligan served as the University’s Acting Dean of the School of Business. The School of Business housed approximately 90 full- and part-time faculty members, 2,000 undergraduate students, and 100 graduate students. In his capacity as Acting Dean, he was responsible for all academic, administrative, and student affairs of the school. Dr. Galligan’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Management from Nichols College, a Master of Business Administration from Nichols College, a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from the University of Hartford, a Master of Science in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a doctorate degree in education (educational leadership) from the University of Hartford.
