Eugene L. Bell is seeking his Associate of Science Degree in Business Administration from Gateway Community College. Eugene is a father of three children and his oldest son is also attending Gateway. Eugene joined the U.S. Armed Forces in 1991 where he was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. Throughout Eugene’s military career he has supervised in excess of 30 soldiers in the field of automated logistic specialist. As a non-commissioned officer, he has obtained various awards and certificates such as an Army Accommodation Metal, the Operation Iraqi Freedom Metal, the Good Conduct Metal, Presidential Unit Citation, Outstanding Duty Performance, the Commander’s Award for Excellence and the Operation Enduring Freedom Metal. Eugene ended his Army career in 2006 after serving in Iraq, Kuwait and Germany. While pursuing his degree, Eugene has served GCC as the President of the Armed Forces and Veteran’s Club, has served on the Student Government Association, has worked in the Veteran’s Affairs Office, the Small Business Center, was a Team Leader in the Students in Free Enterprise when they won first place at the Northeast Regional competition, and teaches a job readiness course at New Horizon High School in New Haven, CT. The Student Government Association President at GCC said Eugene is an honest and trustworthy individual, that he is man of integrity and demonstrates good values. She also said that Eugene is compassionate about the well-being of our students and our future. Eugene demonstrates strong leadership skills as well as being a strong advocate for the students in which he serves.
