Peter Bragdon is senior vice president of legal and corporate affairs, general counsel and secretary of Columbia Sportswear Company, which sells outdoor apparel, footwear and equipment in more than 100 countries. He served as chief of staff to Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski from January 2003 to June 2004, during a leave of absence from Columbia.
Bragdon received a bachelor's degree from Amherst College in 1984, a master’s degree from Yale Law School in 1991 and a law degree from Stanford Law School in 1993. He began his career as a journalist, serving as an intern at the Oregonian and then writing for Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report in Washington D.C., before being selected for a Knight Foundation Fellowship to participate in the Yale Law School masters program.
After earning his law degree, he worked from 1993 to 1999 at the law firm Stoel Rives LLP, and assisted the Governor's Task Force on Gaming as an assistant attorney general for seven months in 1996.
