Douglas Earl Applegate

A Representative from Ohio; born in Steubenville, Jefferson County, Ohio, March 27, 1928; attended the public schools; graduated, Steubenville High School, 1947; engaged in real estate business; served in the Ohio house of representatives, 1961-1969; Ohio senate, 1969-1976; delegate to Democratic National Convention, 1964; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fifth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1977-January 3, 1995); not a candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Fourth Congress.
