As a Director in the Strategic Communications practice at The Glover Park Group, Ben provides strategic counsel and tactical support to corporations, coalitions and trade associations who seek to influence public policy debates in our nation’s capital. Working primarily with clients in the financial services industry, he develops and oversees the execution of integrated strategic communications and public affairs campaigns, specializing in message development, media relations and reputation management. From the campaign trail to the halls of Congress, Ben has a diverse professional background in communications and public relations, including extensive experience dealing with issues related to the capital markets and financial services industry. Most recently, he was Communications Director for U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), overseeing all of the office’s communications activities in New Jersey and Washington, DC. In this role, he managed communications efforts to advance and promote the Congressman’s legislative initiatives and his work as Chairman of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets and Government-Sponsored Enterprises and Vice Chairman of the Budget Committee. Before joining Garrett’s office, Ben worked as a communications staffer for the House Agriculture Committee, spearheading online engagement and grassroots organizing. Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, Ben worked at the intersection of Wall Street and politics in communications posts for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). In addition to his experience in Washington, Ben has served on the front lines of political campaigns at the congressional and presidential level. Ben earned a Master’s degree in Political Management from the Graduate School of Political Management at George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College where he double majored in Political Science and Communications.
