Gregg Rothschild

Gregg Rothschild is a Managing Director at The Glover Park Group. He joined GPG after a significant tenure as a senior aide in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. Most recently, Mr. Rothschild was the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and a principal aide to then-Chairman John D. Dingell. In this capacity, Mr. Rothschild advised the Chairman and the Democratic Members of the Committee on the full range of matters that come before the Committee including health care, energy, telecommunications and media issues, food and drug safety, the environment, and consumer protection. For the myriad of bills within the Committee’s jurisdiction, Mr. Rothschild devised strategies and tactics for advancing such legislation through Committee and the House floor. He was charged with directing communications with the House and Senate Democratic Leadership and with managing legislative negotiations with the Senate. Prior to his most recent service in the House, Mr. Rothschild worked at Verizon Communications where he was Vice President and Policy Counsel, Federal Government Relations. In that capacity, Mr. Rothschild represented Verizon and Verizon Wireless before the US Congress on all matters involving telecommunications and the mass media. He developed legislative advocacy and political communication strategies on issues including Verizon’s acquisition of MCI and the company’s entry into the cable marketplace. He also served as the company’s primary liaison to the National Democratic Party and Democratic Members of Congress. Before joining Verizon, Mr. Rothschild worked on Capitol Hill for nearly nine years, first, as a Legislative Assistant and then Legislative Director to Senator John F. Kerry, managing the Senator’s legislative staff and advising the Senator on issues that included telecommunications and the media, international trade, technology, and transportation. He then served as the Senior Telecommunications and Media Counsel on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he was the senior advisor to then-Ranking Member Dingell and Democratic Members of the Committee on all telecommunications and media issues. Prior to his work on Capitol Hill, Mr. Rothschild was an associate for two law firms in downtown D.C.: Patton Boggs, where he was a member of the Business Law Practice Group and Ginsburg, Feldman & Bress, where he was a member of the Telecommunications Practice Group.
