Mr. Duane E. Collins served as Chairman of the Board of Parker Hannifin Corporation from October 1999 to October 27, 2004, Chief Executive Officer from July 1993 to June 2001 and as its President from July 1993 to February 2000. He began his career with Parker as a Sales Engineer in 1961, with early assignments in regional sales positions throughout the United States. He served as General Sales Manager and Operations Manager of the Hose Products Division prior to being named General Manager in 1973. Collins was appointed President – Fluid Connectors Group in 1980, after having been Vice President – Operations if that Group for four years. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering Mr. Collins serves as an Honorary Director of Hospice Of The Western Reserve, Inc. He serves as a Director of MTD Holdings Inc. He served as a Director of Parker Hannifin from 1992 to October 27, 2006, MeadWestvaco Corporation since 2002, Sherwin-Williams Co. from 1996 to April 19, 2006, Mead Corporation since 1986 and National City Corporation since 1995. He is a Trustee of the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, the Cleveland YMCA and University Hospitals Health System (Cleveland). He is a Member of the Visiting Committee of Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management. .
