Francis C. (Fran) Voll (’68) is in his sixth year as principal of Marion Catholic High School, Marion, Ohio. Voll is a former BGSU women’s basketball coach, leading the Falcons to two undefeated Mid-American Conference seasons, three regular-season MAC championships, four MAC tournament titles and four trips to the NCAA tournament. He was the BGSU coach from 1984-91, when he stepped down to become assistant athletic director and Falcon Club director. In 1996, he moved to Central Michigan University as women’s basketball coach. When he was named BGSU’s head women’s coach in 1984, Voll was the most successful girls’ high school basketball coach in the nation, coming from Delphos St. John. He was inducted into the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame and the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. For the past three seasons he has been the color announcer for men’s and women’s basketball games for the Buckeye Cable Sports Network. Voll has been a strong supporter of BGSU and ended his term as resource development chair of the BGSU Alumni Association Board of Directors in May 2007. Now very active in his local community, he serves as president of the Marion Rotary during 2007-08. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from BGSU in 1968, and a master’s degree, also in education, from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Ind.
