Gail Miller and her husband, Larry, bought their first Toyota dealership in Utah in 1979. Just seven years later they plunked down $22 million to buy the Utah Jazz.
When Larry died in 2009, Gail assumed 100% ownership of a sprawling business empire that now includes 55 car dealerships, 17 movie theaters and the NBA's Utah Jazz (now worth $875 million). She currently chairs both the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies and the board of trustees at Salt Lake Community College.
