Managing Director, Goldman Sachs Marvin Markus has been a municipal finance banker with Goldman Sachs since 1998, and serves as a vice president and was named managing director in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Marvin worked for the City of New York Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) as Deputy Commissioner in charge of the policy and intergovernmental functions. After that, he worked for 20 years as an investment banker, specializing in municipal and sovereign related financings. Mr. Markus served as Chairman of the New York City Rent Guidelines Board, having been appointed by Mayor Edward Koch. In 2002, Mayor Michael Bloomberg reappointed Mr. Markus to that position, where he served until 2009.
