Duncan, a co-founder and partner of Promontory Financial Group, is partner with Atrevida Partners, an investment advisory firm specializing in alternative assets. He is also a member of the board of the rating agency Standard & Poor’s, a member of the board of the credit insurance company Syncora Guarantee Inc., and a member of the advisory board of Freeman & Co., a boutique mergers and acquisitions advisory firm focused on financial services. Experience From 1999 until 2001, Duncan was the CEO of Soros Fund Management, where his responsibilities included management of operational infrastructure, expansion of the business platform, and firm investment, including trading areas such as arbitrage activities and the selection of third-party managers. Prior to Soros, Duncan was at Bankers Trust Co. for 12 years, where he worked as executive vice president in charge of sales, trading and derivatives; the treasurer of Bankers Trust Corp.; a member of the management, asset liability, and capital commitment committees; and a director of BT Alex Brown Inc. Duncan represented Bankers Trust on the Board of the Oversight Partners, the consortium that took control of Long Term Capital Management, where he was elected chairman of the board. In 1979, he began his career as an auditor for Arthur Andersen. He is a member of the board of directors, the finance committee, and the research, education and patient care committee of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Duncan received a master's degree in business administration with distinction from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor's degree in Science summa cum laude from the Wharton undergraduate division
