Elizabeth P. Kessler, of New Albany, was appointed to the Ohio Board of Regents by Gov. John Kasich for a term beginning August 1, 2013 and ending on Sept. 20, 2016. Kessler is filling the unexpired term of Bonnie Kaelter Milenthal. Kessler is an attorney with Jones Day, where she is Partner-in-Charge of the Columbus office. She has extensive experience in complex litigation with a particular focus on nationwide product liability cases. Her experience includes defending manufacturers of products such as medical devices, cigarettes, recreational vehicles, paints, and chemicals. She appears in state and federal courts throughout the United States and coordinates the defense for clients with co-defendants in joint defense groups. Kessler received her B.G.S. degree from the University of Michigan, and her J.D. from The Ohio State University. She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and a Fellow of the Columbus Bar Foundation. Her civic involvement includes serving on nonprofit boards such as The Ohio State University Medical Center Board, the Wexner Center, and the Women’s Leadership Council of United Way.
