David Campbell is President and Chief Operating Officer of Bluescape Resources, an independent resource company with operations in the United States and Italy. At Bluescape, Campbell is responsible for field and business operations and the origination and development of all power investments. Campbell serves on the Parallel Resource Partners Investment Committee. Prior to Bluescape, Campbell was CEO of Luminant, a competitive power generation subsidiary of EFH Corp (previously TXU Corp). Luminant operations include more than 15,000 MW of coal, nuclear, and natural gas generation, wholesale marketing and trading, and the largest coal mining operation in Texas. During Campbell’s tenure, the business completed a $3.25 billion generation construction program, achieving top-decile performance in costs and time-to-complete. The company’s operations also consistently performed at or near the top of industry benchmarks. Prior to his role in Luminant, Campbell served as chief financial officer of TXU Corp. Working with John Wilder and Jonathan Siegler, Campbell helped to lead TXU’s financial and operational turnaround, delivering 65% annualized returns to TXU shareholders from 2004 to 2007. Campbell was formerly a principal in the Dallas office of McKinsey & Company, Inc., where he led the Texas and U.S. Southern Region hubs of McKinsey’s corporate finance and strategy practice. Campbell is a graduate of Yale University, Harvard Law School, and Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
