Southern Methodist University, LL.B. University of Texas, B.A. Jordan has been a trial lawyer in Dallas since 1964, and in '95 he lost the mayoral election to Ron Kirk. Becoming managing partner for Godwin Gruber in the fall of '04, he reduced his role and responsibility with the firm in December '05 in order to accommodate his rekindled desire to seek political office. In 2007, when Dallas lawyer Darrell Jordan left Godwin Pappas Ronquillo, he had plans to launch a venture to help businesses and individuals comply with a proposed new immigration law. But Congress failed to pass an immigration reform act, so Jordan moved on to another opportunity: helping Detroit-based Dykema Gossett open an office in Dallas. The 400-lawyer Dykema launched its Dallas office staffed by Jordan and six other former Godwin Pappas lawyers. Jordan joins as of counsel but will manage the Dykema office in Dallas
