Richard Hugh Baker

Richard H. Baker is MFA’s President and Chief Executive Officer, a role he assumed in February 2008. He was previously a member of the U.S. House Of Representatives, serving Louisiana’s Sixth Congressional District since 1986. Mr. Baker was a member of the House Financial Services Committee and was Chairman of the Subcommittee on Capital Markets for 12 years. He is recognized as an expert on securities, insurance and housing finance. He was first elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 1971 at the age of 23 and served for fifteen years
