David J. Lewinter is Vice President and Corporate Secretary of The Dun & Bradstreet Corporation and Acting General Counsel. Mr. Lewinter was elected Corporate Secretary in October 1999, and was appointed to the additional title of Vice President in April 2000. Before joining Dun & Bradstreet, Mr. Lewinter held the position of Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Philip Morris Companies Inc. At Philip Morris, Mr. Lewinter was involved in a broad range of corporate activities, including SEC compliance, commercial transactions, corporate finance, executive compensation and shareholder relations. Prior to his position at Philip Morris, Mr. Lewinter was an attorney with Becton Dickinson & Company from 1990 through 1995. Mr. Lewinter's responsibilities at Becton Dickinson included mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, commercial transactions, executive compensation and government contracts. Mr. Lewinter is a Director of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and also serves as President of the Society's New York chapter. A native of Great Neck, New York, Mr. Lewinter graduated in 1984 with a B.A. from Columbia College, New York, majoring in Economics. He received a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1987.
