Mark Jacobsohn is a Booz Allen Hamilton senior vice president and a senior leader in the fields of modeling, simulation, wargaming, and analysis. In these fields, a multi-disciplinarian group of more than 1,200 Booz Allen staff provide advanced analytic support to each of the firm’s three major markets: Defense, Security, and Civil. Mr. Jacobsohn leads the effort in the security market, with a focus on delivering analytics, modeling and simulation, and wargaming to agencies across the intelligence community, with a focus on the NSA. Mr. Jacobsohn also manages significant efforts for the firm within the Department of Defense, including ongoing work for the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO), which is directly supporting the forces in Iraq and Afghanistan in defeating IED devices as well as the networks building and emplacing them. His team supports the Counter-IED Operational Integration Center (COIC) in these efforts. In addition, he helps oversee the development of planning tools to support the Adaptive Planning and Execution community, as represented by the Combatant Commands (COCOMs), Joint Staff the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and Office of the Secretary of Defense. Mr. Jacobsohn is well known as a wargamer, having designed and executed several hundred events over his career, ranging from small tabletop exercises to large signature events such as a national cyber exercise for a large agency. For another federal defense client, Mr. Jacobsohn and his team designed and executed wargames in direct support of successful military operations overseas. He has also helped develop and employ a broad set of modeling and simulation tools, from course-of-action analysis for national war plans, to detailed tactical modeling and visualization tools in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as network and system performance modeling for classified programs. Prior to joining Booz Allen, Mr. Jacobsohn worked for Science Applications International Corporation, focusing on nuclear arms control and the revolution in military affairs. Mr. Jacobsohn is a member of the Military Operations Research Society (MORS). He holds an M.A. degree in security policy studies from the George Washington University and a B.A. in government from Hamilton College. He also holds a certificate from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government for completing the Senior Executives in National and International Security Program.
