Tom Pfeifer, Senior Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton, leads the firm’s US Air Force (USAF) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) IT business. He directs senior IT professionals focused on enterprise information management, net-centricity, cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure design and development. He is the officer in charge of the AF NETCENTS and NETCENTS-2 IDIQs and regularly leverages these vehicles to address and resolve some of the Air Force’s most challenging infrastructure and systems applications transformations. Since 1984, Mr. Pfeifer has provided system and software engineering services and extensive expertise to every phase of the systems and software engineering lifecycle across the Department of Defense (DoD) and international community. Among his numerous engagements for Booz Allen, he led a system engineering, integration, and test project to improve processes and procedures for the firm’s IT infrastructure business. He served on the firm’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) process improvement team, and has led the development and execution of the USAF IT market strategy for the firm since 2007. Mr. Pfeifer has also held engineering and technical positions at IMS Inc., Fowler International, and CDSI, where his roles included leading the development and implementation of quality management processes for large software development projects in the civil and DoD markets. He facilitated Joint Application Design (JAD) requirements analysis sessions between representatives of the US Navy, US defense contractors, Taiwan defense contractors, and Taiwan Navy acquisition, logistics, and operations specialists as chief engineer for design and development of a logistics and configuration management system for the Taiwan navy. His memberships include the Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA), Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Computer Society, and American Society of Quality. He has a B.A. degree in economics and an M.S. degree in computer systems management from the University of Maryland.
