Booz Allen Hamilton Senior Vice President Dave Karp has led a number of Defense-focused business areas during his career with the firm. He led the firm’s overall Navy-Marine Corps business for four years and helped build the firm's nationwide Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) business. As a leader in the firm’s Western Region, he works with offices from Honolulu to Colorado Springs to San Antonio to build new capabilities that meet client needs and develop staff expertise. Mr. Karp helped bring Booz Allen’s services and capabilities to clients in the Pacific area, including Hawaii, Korea, Guam, Japan, and Alaska. He leads Booz Allen’s Joint Program Executive Office (PEO) Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) business. Mr. Karp has 32 years of professional experience between Booz Allen Hamilton and the US Navy, including 6 years of active duty and 12 years as a reservist (while at Booz Allen). Prior to Booz Allen, Mr. Karp was a commissioned Naval Officer with expertise in C4I, weapons, and combat systems afloat and ashore. Since joining Booz Allen in 1985, Mr. Karp has supported increasingly senior clients on engagements ranging from C4ISR Systems Acquisition to Mission/Strategy Assessment and Support to Planning, Programming and Budgeting. Mr. Karp has served in a number of roles in recent years that offer insight and value to the firm’s clients. He participated in the Joint C4ISR Professional Community, the Mission Integration and BRAC campaigns, and led a host of large defense engagements. He was a leader in the firm’s Mission & Industry Expertise (M&IE) Center of Excellence. Mr. Karp recently returned to the firm’s Acquisition and Program Management Center of Excellence and helps lead the firm’s Engineering and Operations capabilities. Mr. Karp is currently leveraging his experience in starting up a wide range of businesses and building teams, to assist in the growth and development of a number of offices across the country. He also supports the Firm’s Leadership Team on a number of special projects. Mr. Karp is a member of the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), where he serves on the Board. Mr. Karp holds a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture from the US. Naval Academy, and a Masters degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University. He is a graduate of the Naval War College.
