Prior to joining Plum Creek, Lindquist served as executive vice president for Trammell Crow Company. Lindquist graduated in 1982 with honors from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration, finance and marketing. He also earned a master's degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School in 1986.
