Tom Moorman is a Senior Executive Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton. A recognized thought leader, he has often spoken at national space forums and has published articles on numerous aerospace topics from transforming the US space industrial base to space policy to unmanned aerial vehicles. In 2004, Space News named Mr. Moorman as one of the top ten most noteworthy contributors to the US space program. While at Booz Allen, Mr. Moorman was a Senior Vice President responsible for the firm’s US Air Force and NASA business. He also chaired the Space Campaign, which oversaw Booz Allen’s space-related activities. Mr. Moorman received Booz Allen’s Professional Excellence Award in recognition of outstanding and innovative client service on an assignment for the US Air Force. Mr. Moorman joined Booz Allen after serving more than 35 years in the United States Air Force, culminating with his assignment as Vice Chief of Staff. As Vice Chief of Staff, he oversaw and managed the day-to-day activities of the Air Staff at the Pentagon, including budgeting, programming, and administration. He also chaired the Air Force Council, which finalized all programming proposals. Mr. Moorman also acted as the Air Force representative to a number of joint and interagency organizations, including the Joint Resources Oversight Committee and the Quadrennial Defense Review. He chaired the Air Force Board of Directors and was charged with developing the Air Force strategic vision for the 21st Century. This vision included the examination of the Air Force education and training needs for the new millennium. Mr. Moorman is a Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the Space Foundation, a Trustee of the Falcon Foundation, a member of the Air Force Association’s Forces Capability Committee, a member of the US Strategic Command’s Senior Advisor Group, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Aerospace Corporation, an Outside Director of the Board of Smith’s Detection and Smith’s Interconnect and an Outside Director of Elbit Systems of America. Mr. Moorman holds a B.A. degree from Dartmouth College, an M.A. in Political Science from Auburn University, and an M.A. in Business Administration from Western New England College. He has also been awarded two honorary degrees – a Doctorate in Management from Colorado Tech and a Doctorate of Laws from Clemson University.
