CG Appleby is a McLean-based Senior Executive Advisor with Booz Allen Hamilton who previously served as the firm’s Chief Legal Officer. He is Chairman of the Board of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. As the General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer, Mr. Appleby was responsible for providing legal services and overall risk management, supporting policy formulation, supervising litigation and governance matters, ensuring compliance with the firm's professional policies, practices, and ethics, as well as administering the firm's stock programs. His professional experience spans statutory law and regulations as they affect operations. In addition, Mr. Appleby serves as the Secretary of Booz Allen’s Board of Directors and also serves on its senior management team and Operating Council. Mr. Appleby is a former President and Board member, and current member of the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association; former President, and current Board and Executive Committee member of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia; former Chairman and Board member, and current member of the Executive Committee, Professional Services Council; Board member of the Fairfax County, Virginia Chamber of Commerce; Principal of the Council for Excellence in Government; Board member of TeamFairfax 2013; current member of the CharityWorks Advisory Board; and Vice Chairman and member of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum's Board of Governors. Mr. Appleby was profiled in the July 23, 2007, edition of the LegalTimes, and he has received the Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association’s “Corporate Counsel Career Achievement Award.” He holds a JD from The American University, Washington College of Law and a BA from Hillsdale College.
