Carl M Eschenbach

Carl M. Eschenbach serves as Director of Zoom Video Communications, Inc. since November 2016. He has been a General Partner of Sequoia Capital Operations, LLC since April 2016 and focuses on infrastructure technologies, cloud and SaaS. Mr. Eschenbach also provides operating expertise to Sequoia’s portfolio companies. He served as the President at Vmware, Inc. since December 2012 until March 31, 2016 and served as its Chief Operating Officer from April 2012 to March 31, 2016. He helped architect the Vmware, Inc. 's go-to-market strategy and increase its revenue from $31 million to more than $6 billion and scaled the Vmware, Inc. from 200 employees to 20,000. He served as the Vice President of North America Sales at Inktomi from 2000 to 2002 and was instrumental in building out the North America sales, pre-sales engineering and field marketing organizations. He served various sales management positions with 3Com Corporation, Lucent Technologies and EMC. He has been a Director of Cohesity, Inc. October 2017. He is an Independent Director of Workday, Inc. since February 14, 2018. He serves as a Director of Viptela, Inc. Mr. Eschenbach has been an Independent Director of Palo Alto Networks, Inc. since May 23, 2013. He studied at Devry University.
