Tarr has been a senior advisor at TPG, a global private equity firm, since 2018. He served as president, CEO and director of DigitalGlobe Inc. and president and CEO of IHS Inc. He previously was CEO of Hoover's Inc., where he served as chairman from 2002 until 2003 when he oversaw the sale of Hoover's to Dun & Bradstreet Corp. He began his career at Bain & Co.
