Delhiite by birth, Rajesh K Soin is the chairman of board of MTC Technologies and CEO and chairman of Corbus, which has been providing consulting, IT and BPO services to its global clientele for almost a decade. Soin graduated from Delhi University in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, he went to the US with barely enough money to get into Bradley University, where he earned a masters in industrial engineering in 1971, while working as a research assistant. Over the years Soin has continued his postgraduate studies in business and finance at Bradely University and Illinois State University. He is also pursuing advance management programmes at Harvard University and Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In 1978, Soin and his wife Indu became American citizens. Soin started his first business when he was 22. He has two children. Soin started his business in 1971 with Firestone Tyre and Rubber Company as an industrial engineer and worked at various production facilities until 1978. Then he joined Williams International as manager of corporate systems. In 1984, Soin decided to start another business and to devote full time to the venture, which he named MTC. Soin and Indu started MTC with $1,700 in cash, a handful of credit cards, and a dream. MTC was founded with the idea of providing engineering and technical services to the department of defence, but quickly became an incubator that has spawned numerous businesses in a variety of industries.
