Karen Quintos is senior vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO) for Dell, where she leads marketing for the company worldwide. She is responsible for brand strategy, global communications, customer events, social media, corporate responsibility, customer insights, marketing talent development, agency management and sales enablement. Karen serves as the executive sponsor of the largest networking group at Dell, Women in Search of Excellence. Before becoming CMO in September 2010, Karen served as vice president for public sector marketing and was responsible for driving global marketing strategies, product and pricing programs, communications and channel plans to reach millions of higher education, government and healthcare customers for Dell. Previously, she was vice president of marketing for the commercial business in North America and has also held various executive roles in services, contact center and supply-chain management. Karen joined Dell in 2000 from Citigroup, where she served as vice president of global operations and technology. She also spent 12 years with Merck & Co., where she held a variety of roles in marketing, planning, operations and supply chain. She holds a master’s degree in marketing and international business from New York University and a bachelor of science in supply-chain management from The Pennsylvania State University. She is a member of the board of directors of Lennox International Inc., serves as an advisory board member for Catalyst and a board member for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. She also serves on the board of Penn State’s Smeal College of Business and is a 2014 recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award, the university’s highest honor. Forbes named Karen one of the most influential CMOs in the world, and Working Mother magazine named her Mother of the Year. She resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband and three children.
