Mr. Michael S. Smith serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Freeport LNG Development, L.P. Mr. Smith is a founder of Freeport LNG Investments, LLC. He serves as Industry Advisor of Brightwood Capital Advisors, LLC. Mr. Smith served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Basin Exploration, Inc. since 1988. He served as President of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association. He founded Basin Exploration, Inc. in 1981 and Freeport LNG Development LP in 2002. He worked at Stone Energy Corp. He served as Finance Chairman for Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell's successful 1992 U.S. Senatorial Campaign. He serves as Chairman of the board of Freeport LNG Development LP. He served as Chairman of the board of Basin Exploration, Inc. since 1983. He serves as a Director of Thinkstream, Inc. He served as Director of Basin Exploration Inc. Mr. Smith serves on the boards of directors for the National Jewish Medical and Research Center for Lung Allergic, and Immune Diseases, Colorado Ocean Journey, and the Development Council of Colorado State University and Freeport LNG Development LP. He served as a member of the State of Colorado Governor’s Minerals, Energy & Geology Policy Advisory Board.
