Michael Koss established Koss Real Estate Investments in 1971, specializing in the development and acquisition of commercial property. His portfolio encompasses shopping center investments in six states, including the world-renowned Malibu Country Mart, an upscale retail village located in the heart of Malibu, CA. Michael is the past president of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles, the second largest apartment association in the Western United States. He is also a past director of the California State Restaurant Association as well as the Los Angeles Commercial Property Owners Association. His philanthropic appointments include being a past Chairman of the America Israel Public Affairs Committee Western Region (AIPAC), General Chair and Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation, President of the Jewish National Fund LA Ambassadors Campaign as well as having received the Tree of Life Award from the JNF. In 2004 he was selected by the Los Angeles Jewish Federation to be the annual Real Estate and Construction Division honoree. He is currently the co-chair of the Los Angeles Jewish Federation Centennial Endowment Campaign. Michael also serves on the Board of Regents of Brandeis University. Michael is married to Corie Koss. His daughter, Autumn, is a real estate attorney and lives with her husband and two children in Boston. His son, Zane, is the owner of two beach-area restaurants: Zane’s and Italy’s Little Kitchen and lives in Hermosa Beach, CA with his wife and two children. Zane is also active in management with Koss Real Estate. His daughter, Niki, is an actress, screenwriter, producer and director.
