Stewart Morris Jr

Stewart Morris has devoted his business career to the management, growth and expansion of Stewart Title to a network of more than offices and agencies covering all 50 states and 13 foreign companies. He is the past President and Co-CEO of Stewart Information Services Corporation. Mr. Morris was elected an advisory director in January 2000. He currently works as Chairman Emeritus of Stewart International to expand the Stewart brand across the globe, helping other countries enhance their land ownership systems. Mr. Morris received his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Texas in 1943 and his LL.B. degree from Southern Methodist University in 1943. In 1980, the Houston native earned his honorary Ph.D. from Houston Baptist University. He graduated from Midshipman's School at Columbia University and served in the Navy during World War II, participating in seven invasions in the South Pacific. Mr. Morris is secretary trustee of Oldham Little Church Foundation and has been active with the InnerChange Freedom Initiative program. He is a past national trustee of the National Jewish Center, headquartered in Denver. Active in historic preservation, Mr. Morris has served on the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Harris County Historical Society, Galveston Historic Foundation, Monticello Cabinet and George Washington's Mount Vernon. Mr. Morris was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 1995.
