Beverly O'Toole is a managing director and associate general counsel at Goldman Sachs in New York. She heads the Corporate Governance division of the firm’s Finance and Corporate Legal Group, focusing on public company matters and securities disclosure issues and providing legal oversight for the firm’s corporate governance and corporate secretarial obligations globally. Beverly is also a co-chair of the Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit and Executive Office Women’s Network. She joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 and was named managing director in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, Beverly served as corporate counsel at Revlon, Inc. from 1996 to 2000 and prior to that, was a corporate associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton from 1993 to 1996. Beverly serves as secretary of the boards of Goldman Sachs Gives and The Goldman Sachs Foundation. She also serves as secretary and member of the Board of Trustees of the University Cottage Club of Princeton University. Beverly is a member of the Policy Advisory Committee and Securities Law Committee as well as a member of the National Board of the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals. She also serves on the Advisory Committee and as president of the Society’s New York Chapter. Beverly serves on the NYSE Proxy Fee Advisory Committee and was previously a member of the NYSE Proxy Working Group and the NYSE Commission on Corporate Governance. Beverly earned an undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University and a JD, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
