On May 14 2008, the former president of the Arizona Diamondbacks and former vice president and chief operating officer of the Phoenix Suns started his new job as Phoenix president of GenSpring Family Offices, a wealth management firm for ultra-high-net-worth families. He wasn't planning to start a new job, especially with his latest business venture, CDK Partners, foundering. That real estate development company -- headed by Dozer, Diamondbacks Managing Partner Ken Kendrick and Cardon Development founder Don Cardon -- recently pulled out of the condominium project it was slated to build as part of the CityScape development in downtown Phoenix. After talking with Kendrick and Suns Chairman Jerry Colangelo -- both of whom are affiliated with GenSpring -- Dozer, 51, started to contemplate another change. Plus, he had long- standing ties to Mark Feldman, chairman of GenSpring in Phoenix. The two knew each other from their days at Chicago-based Arthur Andersen LLP more than 20 years ago. Prior to joining GenSpring, Rich was co-founder and managing partner of CDK Partners, a real estate development and investment company. Prior to that, he served as President of the Arizona Diamondbacks from its inception in 1995 until 2006, and he served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Phoenix Suns from 1987 to 1995, as well as President of the former America West Arena. From 1979 to 1987, he held audit manager and recruiting positions at Arthur Andersen LLP. Rich is a leader in the Phoenix business community, and has extensive experience with various community organizations including Phoenix Children’s Hospital, United Way, and United Cerebral Palsy.
