Jonathan Bing

Jonathan Bing focuses his practice on New York City and State government relations as well as an insurance insolvency regulatory practice based on his recent experience serving at the request of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as the Special Deputy Superintendent in charge of the New York Liquidation Bureau. Jonathan has the experience and insider knowledge to successfully represent the New York City interests of Albany government affairs clients and the legislative objectives of NYC clients. He is adept at the art of cutting through bureaucracies and red tape, connecting clients with the “right” people, and communicating with city and state agencies on behalf of his clients. Prior to joining the New York Liquidation Bureau, Jonathan was elected to five terms representing the Upper East Side and East Midtown Manhattan in the New York State Assembly from January 2003 through June 2011. Before his election to the Assembly, Jonathan served as a U.S. District Court law clerk and was an attorney in Manhattan litigating labor and employment cases and developing policies and procedures for employers. After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, Jonathan was chosen to organize more than 250 attorneys as the New York Coordinator of the FEMA/American Bar Association's Disaster Legal Services program, which provided free, comprehensive legal assistance to nearly 1,000 New Yorkers affected by the terrorist attacks. Jonathan was recognized for his accomplishments as an Assembly Member by several organizations, including Hunter College, New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund, New York State United Way, New York University School of Law, Metropolitan Library Council, Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, New York State Association of Realtors, Turtle Bay Association and Sutton Area Community, Inc.
