Peter C. Smith is Chief Human Resources Officer for Burger King Corporation. Pete brings a wealth of senior human resource experience to his position at Burger King Corporation. He has directed human resource functions throughout the world with Frito-Lay, Citibank and, most recently, AutoNation, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While at AutoNation, Smith served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, where he built the human resources organization from the ground up. During his tenure, overall company turnover was reduced by 30%. Prior to AutoNation, Smith spent ten years on international assignments with Citibank and Frito-Lay. He served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Citibank where he had full generalist accountability for 17 nations with 13,000 employees in the Consumer Bank. During this Citibank tenure, Pete also helped facilitate the integration of two major acquisitions. In his 15 years with PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division, Smith held a variety of generalist assignments in the United States and on the international front was responsible for due diligence, acquisition and integration of business units in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia. Smith earned a bachelor's of science degree in Business from Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. He resides in Miami, Florida.
