John E. Lowe is assistant to ConocoPhillips’ chief executive officer. In this role, Lowe represents the company in many of its external relationships and provides assistance on special assignments. Lowe served as executive vice president of Exploration & Production in 2007, and executive vice president of Commercial in 2006. Prior to that, he was executive vice president, Planning, Strategy and Corporate Affairs since 2002, and senior vice president, Corporate Strategy and Development since 2001. He was named senior vice president of Planning and Strategic Transactions in 2000, after serving as vice president of Planning and Strategic Transactions since 1999. Lowe joined the company in 1981. Lowe currently serves on the board of directors for the Houston Museum of Natural Science. He is a former board member of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, DCP Midstream, DCP Partners, the 66 Federal Credit Union, and OK Mozart. Lowe was born in 1959 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He received a bachelor of science degree in finance and accounting from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, in 1981.
