Donald C. Berg was appointed Chief Financial Officer on May 1, 2008. Prior to his promotion, Berg served as senior vice president and director of corporate finance. Berg has had a number of broad experiences with Brown-Forman. In July, 2003, he was appointed a leadership position in the U.S. sales and marketing organization and became president of the Americas. In 2001, he held the position of senior vice president and director of corporate development and strategy. Prior to that, Berg served as president for the Advancing Markets Group after having served a four year tenure as senior vice president, sales and marketing director, and prior to that, director of business development for AMG. In 1992, Berg was vice president of the Beverage Consulting Group after serving as director of finance and administration for Nashville marketing. Berg joined Brown-Forman in 1988 as assistant to the president. In addition, Berg has a wide variety of experience with respected national and international firms. Berg came to Brown-Forman from Erbamont, a multi-national pharmaceutical company. Prior to that, he was in brand management at Carnation and, earlier in his career, worked as a CPA with Ernst and Whinney in Chicago. Berg received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Berg lives in Louisville, Kentucky with his wife and their three children.
