Ilene Marie Tognini brings more than 18 years of experience in compliance, reporting, ethics, and best practices for non-profit institutions. She advises national and international 501c3 organizations including charitable, religious, sports, educational, and arts organizations. Ms. Tognini was at the forefront of the interpretation and implementation of FASB 116 and 117, and the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA). She guided many of the nation’s largest art institutions in the establishment of compliance practices and reporting transparency. She also has significant experience with business immigration and investor immigration, including E-2 Treaty Traders, EB-5 Fifth Preference, and the Regional Center Pilot Program. She is a principal of Praesidia Consulting Group, and has advised many prestigious international clients including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Dia Center for the Arts, and Wat Lao Bodgaya, in Gaya, India. Ilene holds a Juris Doctor, a BA in Sculpture, and a BA in Scenic Design. She is a member of the New York Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Prior to practicing law she was an artist collaborator, working with physicists and computer engineers on multi-disciplinary projects. Her work was exhibited in New York and Europe and was featured on National Public Radio’s Performance Today. Ms. Tognini serves on the Board of Directors of George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, the Arts By George Steering Committee, and she has Co-chaired the Scholarship Auction. She also serves on the CVPA Friends of Dance Committee and the Hylton PAC Committee. She is an avid polo player, and serves as an Eastern Circuit Delegate and Committee Member of the United States Polo Association.
