David serves as Vice Chairman of Cain Brothers. David is also the co-founder and a managing partner of Cutlass Capital, LLC, a venture capital firm investing in healthcare services and medical technology companies. In addition, David is a senior advisor to LLM Capital Partners LLC, a middle-market private equity firm. Prior to founding Cutlass Capital in 2000, David was an investment banker with Robertson, Stephens & Co., where he was co-head of investment banking, head of the mergers & acquisitions department and a member of the management committee. David serves or has previously served on the following corporate boards: Alere Medical, Apneon, Byram Healthcare, i-Many, IntelliCare, Titan Healthcare, Vital Signs, and Xoft. In addition, David currently serves as a trustee of Claremont McKenna College and the Middlesex School and on the advisory board of the Kravis Leadership Institute. David is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College (B.A.) and Harvard Business School (M.B.A.) and is a frequent lecturer on the topics of entrepreneurship, leadership and ethics. He and his wife Elizabeth have been married for 30 plus years and have four children.
