Stuart Baskin has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions litigation, securities litigation, criminal defense, and bank regulatory and antitrust matters. He joined the firm as a partner in 1989, serving as head of the litigation department from 2003 to 2008. From 1978 to 1982, he was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York and was awarded the John Marshall Award for Best Justice Department Trial Lawyer for 1982. Mr. Baskin served as the Special Assistant to Director, Office for Civil Rights, Department of Health, Education and Welfare in Washington, D.C., from 1977 to 1978. He was also a Law Clerk to Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1976 to 1977 and to Judge Walter R. Mansfield of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, from 1975 to 1976. Mr. Baskin is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at New York University School of Law.
